X-Men Apocalypse is bringing massive mutant destruction to theaters on Memorial Day weekend with stars like Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy and Oscar Isaac leading the new adventures set in the 1980’s. Previously unseen X-Men from the comics like Olivia Munn as Psylocke are making their debut along with younger versions of well established characters such as Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Angel. It’s going to be an epic event.
This also marks the historic 20th episode of SequelQuest! We thank everyone who has been listening since the beginning and wanted to add some excitement to your experience. To celebrate this milestone we’ve brought over one of the co-hosts of SequelChat, Gavin to act as our guest Studio Executive and preside over a change in the show’s format.
Knowing that the X-Men franchise won’t be short of sequels any time soon, we decided to go a different route for this show by having co-hosts Jeff, Jeramy, Adam and Justin bring in a pitch for an X-Men spin-off. That’s right, we each chose a character we felt was worthy of exploration in a solo adventure and tried to get the other guys to vote for it.
So which mutant did we feel had the most box office potential? Proposed spin-offs included films starring Beast, Jubilee, Mr. Sinister and Kitty Pryde, so listen to episode 20 now to discover our pick and tell us what you think of the new ideas we’re throwing your way.
